Step 1 – Initial Phone Meeting

This 20-minute phone call will give us both a chance to make sure your needs, concerns, and situation matches our expertise and experience. If you needed heart surgery, you wouldn’t see a knee surgeon so we want to be sure we can help before investing our time or yours.

Step 2 – First Meeting

Prescription without diagnosis is malpractice.

The goal is this meeting is to get clear on your goals, concerns, and unique financial situation.

Your answers to our questions, along with documents we request you bring, will guide our analysis, which will result in plain-English answers to five critical questions. The only decisions at the end of this meeting is whether or not you want to move forward with an assessment of your current situation.

Step 3 – Second Meeting

During this meeting we’ll share what we found in our analysis and discuss our recommended action steps to help you achieve your financial goals.

This is where you’ll see, in dollars and cents, how our firm may be able to improve your finances and investments.

At the end of this meeting we’ll ask if you would like to begin working with our firm or if you would like to sleep on it.

Step 4 – Sleep On It

Nobody wants to feel rushed into making a decision. We understand you may wish to sleep on it before taking that next step. We know how critical this decision is and we never pressure you to move your assets before you’re ready. Prior to deciding whether we should work together, you’ll want to answer the following questions.

• Do I like/trust/respect the team at Two Waters Wealth Management?

• Will the benefits they provide exceed their cost?

• Do I understand and agree with their investment and planning philosophy?

• Do their recommendations make sense to me?

We don’t believe in “hard selling” or pressuring people into big decisions. This is a big choice that you have to make so if you decide we aren’t a fit, we’ll gladly refer you to another advisor that may be a better fit if you decide to go in a different direction.

Do you still have questions about us or our firm?

There are four important factors that we believe separates us from other firms.

1. Our background is in retirement planning; specifically as consultants to financial advisors. We've seen first hand the frustration and failures of our industry and are on a mission to fix that.

2. We are selective in who we work with. Many firms take anyone as a new client but we are very selective about the families we bring on in order to deliver more value to those we serve and to protect our clients time when they need something.

3. We are not transactional. There's plenty of places you can go to complete a financial transaction and then never hear from the advisor or firm again. That's not us. We meet with many of our clients 6+ times per year (virtually or in person).

4. We educate our clients before any decision is made so they understand the options in front of them and what the impacts will be to their plan.
We believe in transparency.  Our industry has given itself a black eye by disguising fees and hiding them in investment products.

Our investment management fee includes your account management, ongoing planning, and as many visits as you like throughout the year to meet with us and our team.

You will always know exactly what you're paying and how we're being compensated.  All of our fees are disclosed before any documents are signed or accounts are moved or transferred.  And, if there's EVER a question, simply ask.

This is actually one of our biggest assets. Leveraging technology to make our clients lives easier.

In fact, many of our local clients prefer to meet with us virtually to avoid sitting in traffic or interrupting their days.
We work best with people looking for a long-term partnership and relationship.

We've found over the years that building a one-time plan for someone tends to lead to frustration and confusion when it comes time to implement the recommendations.  Therefore at this time, we do not offer a one-time planning option.
Great question! We aren't stock pickers. If you're looking for someone solely focused on telling you they’ll beat the market, we aren't a fit.

Part of the frustration that our industry has caused is measuring success or failure as percentage points on a statement. We don't try to predict things that are outside of our control. Instead, we focus on what we can control to insulate your plan as much as possible from these other risks.

When we started the firm in 2015 we planned to split time and focus on the coast as well as the Lake Norman area therefore, Two Waters...

While we still have clients along the coast, our client base has expanded significantly in the Lake Norman area, in other states where we serve clients virtually, and other areas throughout North Carolina.
